The Theory of Constraints is a process of identifying the most critical limiting factor or constraint, commonly known in manufacturing as the bottleneck. It may be that this limiting factor is standing in the way of attaining a desired goal. Once identified, the process involves systematically improving that constraint until it is no longer a concern.
